Disposable medical EN14683 Type 1 face masks with flexible mouldable plastic nose locating strip and plastic elastic ear loops. They are manufactured from two layers of non-woven fabric with an inner melt-blown layer for filtration. The melt blown technique used to make the inner layer ensures the fibres are randomly deposited creating a filter which ensures particles cannot find holes lined up between fibre layers.
Single-use medical face masks are designed for use in general medical environments to block contamination from oral or nasal discharge but obviously can be used wherever required - for example in food prep, retail or in offices.
Certified EN149:2001 Compliant
The masks are manufactured to European standard EN 149:2001+A1:2009 (Directive 2016/425, 89/686/EEC) which sets quality standards for filtering half face masks. Many masks now appearing for sale online are not compliant with this European standard. Our masks have been certificated by ICR to ensure legal compliance with EN149 (2/4/20 - expiration 1/4/25). Please contact us for copy of ICR certification.
Independently tested
The masks have been tested by Société Générale de Surveillance (SGS) which is the world’s leading inspection, verification, testing and certification company. Based in Geneva, SGS are the gold standard for third party product quality testing. They tested our masks for strength and filter efficiency based on the Chinese CDC standard YY/T 0969-2013.
Results:
1. The breaking strength of the join between the mask and the filter is 10N (5 second test) - so they are strong enough to withstand a fair amount of force as they are taken on and off.
2. SGS confirms bacterial filtration efficiency of more than 95% with the test result averaging 99.8%.
